Hotel The Craftsmen
Definitions
“Hotel”, “we” and “company” means Hotel The Craftsmen, Singel 83-85, Amsterdam, 1012 VE, The Netherlands.
“Booking” means the booking for accommodation, functions and/or any other services or items made with us.
“Contract” means the booking and these terms, and any other terms and conditions stated to apply to the booking.
“Terms” means these terms and conditions.
“Websites” means www.hotelthecraftsmen.nl or any other website owned or operated by us relating to a hotel from time to time.
“VAT” means value-added tax.
General
These terms and conditions are between you (the guest) and Hotel The Craftsmen and apply to all bookings of hotel rooms and public spaces in the property. These terms and conditions and any bookings made under them shall be governed by and construed in accordance with Dutch Law. The terms and conditions are possibly changed during the moment of booking and your stay with us.
Bookings
When booking or at the check-in, Hotel The Craftsmen will ask for your Credit Card details. Through these details, you authorize us to utilize the card for any expenses that become owing to us. Furthermore, Hotel The Craftsmen has the right to take full payment in advance as well as a deposit of 300,- EURO when you book in certain circumstances or when the booking includes any items or services. No booking is confirmed until the details and/or payment/deposit described in this paragraph are provided to us.
Furthermore, you agree that reservations are made for the number of people paid for and thus you agree on not bringing uninvited guests into the hotel and/or your room. You agree that the reservation is made in good faith for accommodation use for the person who made the booking and his/her invited guests. The room is not used for reselling, impermissibly assigning or posting on third-party websites, or making false or fraudulent reservations or any reservations in anticipation of demand.
Lastly, Hotel The Craftsmen only allows children older than 7 years old in the hotel. By making your booking, you agree that the reservation is made for individuals over 7 years old.
Payments
The following payment methods are accepted at Hotel The Craftsmen: VISA, VISA Electron, V Pay credit, debit, business cards, MasterCard credit, American Express.
At the time of check-in, we will authorise the accommodation charges (room rate, VAT and any service charge) and anticipated incidentals for the duration of your stay against your credit card. All outstanding charges must be paid for in full on check-out from the hotel. If staying for multiple nights at the hotel, we may require you to make a payment for any outstanding charges on a more frequent basis during your stay. Room authorization and room night charges are to be paid by credit card, which you need to be able to show upon check-in. Incidentals such as minibar items or breakfast items are allowed to be paid by credit and debit cards. Your credit card details will be stored as a security deposit only during your stay for any additional charges.
Rates, City Tax and Tourism Fee
You agree on the room rate when you make your reservation and thus this will apply to your booking. Breakfast is included, however additional food & beverage are not unless otherwise agreed upon. All the charges made are including service and VAT and must be paid in local currency (Euros). Prices are subject to change due to currency fluctuations without further notice. Room rates charges must be prepaid on non-refundable offers, all other charges must be paid during check out.
City Tax will apply. The city tax could change during the time between the booking and the stay in the hotel. Currently, the City Tax in Amsterdam is 7% and is not included in the room rate.
A tourism fee of 3,- euros per person, per night, is charged and is not included in the room rate.
Cancellation, No Shows and Alterations
Hotel The Craftsmen offers two types of rates: Best Available Rate (BAR) and non-refundable rates (Non-Ref). Therefore, the policy for cancellations, no-shows and alterations differ per rate. The policy can be read in the following paragraphs.
Best Available Rate
The Best Available Rate bookings can be altered and/or cancelled conform the following:
Booking made before the 2nd of March 2022:
Can be cancelled up to 24 hours in advance. When you cancel the reservation before 24 hour in advance, no costs will be charged to the guest (including City Tax). A No-show or a cancellation that is done later than 24 hours in advance will be charged with one night rate (including City Tax).
Bookings made after the 2nd of March 2022:
Can be cancelled up to 72 hours in advance. When you cancel the reservation before 72 hour in advance, no costs will be charged to the guest (including City Tax). A No-show or a cancellation that is done later than 72 hours in advance will be charged with one night rate (including City Tax).
Cancellations and alterations are only accepted in writing. For any unforeseen incidents, we advise you to take a travel and/or cancellation insurance at all times. When the situation requires refunds of prepaid charges, these are generally processed within 10 days after your cancel or alteration request.
Non-refundable Rate
When booking with a non-refundable rate you are not able to alter, neither to cancel a reservation and thus you will be 100% charged.
When booking with a non-refundable rate, Hotel The Craftsmen is allowed to take the payment from the moment of booking. Please be aware of the fact that you are obliged to show a credit card upon check-in.
When a booking is made through the use of a travel agency or an online travel agency (E.g. Booking.com or Expedia.com), you must cancel or modify the booking through the agency that you used to make the booking.
Check-In Time/Check-Out Time and Requirements
In order to prevent fraud and assure safety and security, guests may be required to provide their identity, valid credit card and their booking reference. This information can be requested for all guests over the age of 16. Moreover, we reserve the right to refuse entry to guests who are not able to provide this information.
Check-in time is at 15:00 local time on the scheduled day of arrival, unless otherwise is stated on the booking. All secured bookings will be held until 23:59, on the scheduled day of arrival. All non-secured reservations will be held until 18:00 on the day of arrival, where after we reserve the right to resell the room unless the guest has notified the hotel regarding late arrival. On the day of departure, the check out time is 11:00, unless a later departure is stated in the booking. Late check-out can be requested upon availability and will be charged.
Early Check-Out
In case of earlier departure than the agreed departure date, we kindly ask you to inform the hotel before 14:00 the day prior to the departure. This will also prevent any late cancellation costs.
Accessibility
Unfortunately, the hotel is not accessible with a wheelchair. The hotel does offer an elevator. Furthermore, the hotel entrance is at the Lijnbaanssteeg and is on the ground floor from where three stair steps need to be taken to access the elevator.
Behaviour
Hotel The Craftsmen requests all guests to conduct themselves appropriately throughout their stay and to operate with respect for the property, staff and guests of the Hotel. Guests need to comply with the Company procedures and/or requests with regards to the health and safety measures. Guests are requested not to disturb the enjoyment and pleasure of other guests or cause any offence to other guests and staff members. Also, the smooth running of the Hotel may not be influenced by guests. We reserve the right to refuse service or accommodation or remove a guest and members of the guest’s party from the hotel if, in our opinion, we consider this provision to have been disobeyed.
When this is the case, the hotel has no obligation to refund the guest for lost accommodation, other services or any other loss or expenses that occurred. Moreover, as the hotel boasts multiple art pieces, it is expected to handle these with care. Therefore, when art pieces or furniture is damaged on purpose, the hotel reserves the right to charge the guest on his/her credit card.
Underaged
All children (a person under 16 years of age) staying at the Hotel must be accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times.
Families with Children
Hotel The Craftsmen has a 12+ policy. For safety reasons and the lack of baby cribs and other facilities. The Boat Builders Room offers a bedstead that has availability for two adults or children above 12. The Blacksmith offers one double bed, and two additional single beds. This family room is bookable subject to availability.
Pets
Pets are not allowed in any of the rooms or public spaces at the Hotel. Assistance dogs are allowed throughout the hotel. Please discuss this while making your booking.
Non-smoking
Hotel The Craftsmen is a non-smoking hotel. It is not permitted to smoke in the rooms or in any of the public areas within the hotel. Also, the use of candles within the property is not allowed. When smoking or the use of candles in the hotel does occur, management reserves the right to take a fine of 250,- Euros from the guests deposit.
Parking
The hotel does not offer any parking spots. Parking spots are limited on the canals, however, we can suggest parking spaces nearby, please inform before arrival.
Liability
Hotel The Craftsmen is not liable, in any way, for theft or loss of your belongings in the hotel or the rooms.
Damage to our hotel and property
Hotel The Craftsmen reserves the right and by booking, you authorise us to charge your credit card for any damage incurred to your room or the hotel during your stay or for any items that are missing when you leave.
Unforeseeable circumstances
Hotel The Craftsmen is not liable neither obliged to pay any compensation for our failure to provide services contracted due to circumstances beyond our control such as natural disaster, fire, (acts of) war and terrorism, strikes, riots, civil disorder, governmental regulations, industrial disputes, adverse weather conditions or any other exceptional and catastrophic events, circumstances or emergencies, making it impossible, illegal or preventing guests from staying in our hotels.
Wi-Fi
Throughout the whole building, you are able to enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi services. All rooms boast an individual network and passwords are shown in the room’s welcome letter and booklet. For public spaces’ Wi-Fi, we kindly ask you to ask reception for the network details. Our wireless network is provided without warranties of any kind, either expressed or implied. We do not ensure that access to our wireless network will be uninterrupted, timely, secure or error-free at all times. Hotel The Craftsmen is not responsible for the security, integrity, accuracy or completeness of any information that you transmit or receive while using our wireless network. Unlawful or prohibited purposes on our network are not permitted.
Privacy
All personal information stored and used by us is done so in accordance with our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, which are available on request
Lost and Found
All items found in the hotel (rooms and public spaces) will be registered and stored for three months.
Links to third-party websites
Hotel The Craftsmen does not control or influence any third party website and is therefore not responsible for the content of any (inter)linked websites. Hotel The Craftsmen offers third parties to satisfy the convenience of the guests and (inter)linked websites do not imply endorsement, investigation or verification by Hotel The Craftsmen. The utilization of third party websites is at the visitor’s own risk.
