The Blacksmith offers two individual bedrooms which are connected through an impressive Wrought iron spiral staircase and additionally boasts one large bathroom. Even though this room is located at the back of the building, its large bathroom windows offer an abundance of light and a glimpse of the canals which can be enjoyed from the inviting retro bathtub. The master bedroom is facing a quiet courtyard, securing a good night’s sleep.
The Blacksmith theme is brought to life with clever and decorative use of materials such as wrought iron, metals, steel and even the base material iron ore. The minibar and safe are incorporated into the original vault of the building. A blue steel wall, designed by an actual blacksmith, supports the TV mounted inside it. The bedside lamps, which have been transformed from polished power drills, are made of iron ore found in rocks and stones along the river Ijssel. The wardrobe consists of a large, antique chest from the 18th Century, covered in cast iron.
